Fellowships Program Manager
Job Description
September 25, 2025
About the Program
The GAIR Fellowship (Global AI Reporting Fellowship) is an 8‑week, cohort‑based online learning program that equips professionals to understand and cover the societal impact of AI responsibly. In 2026, GAIR will run four cohorts of ~20 learners each (80 total) with a strong emphasis on the Global South (Southeast Asia, Latin America, India). This role focuses on running high‑quality educational cohorts — planning, operations, faculty coordination, learner support, and measurable outcomes.
Role Summary
Own end‑to‑end delivery of four online cohorts in 2026. You’ll manage admissions, calendars, instructors, and the learning experience; coordinate live sessions and labs across time zones; ensure content quality and accessibility; and track metrics from application to credentialing. Experience running cohort‑based education programs (bootcamps, accelerators, MOOCs, workforce development) is the priority. Direct newsroom / journalism experience is welcome but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Cohort orchestration : build and maintain the master calendar; coordinate time‑zoned sessions; manage invites, recordings, and materials.
Admissions & learner success : manage application portal, selection rubric, interviews; oversee onboarding, orientation, and office hours; operate early‑warning systems for learner risk and provide interventions.
Curriculum execution : keep weekly modules, labs, and assignments on track; gather feedback; run iterative improvements with SMEs and editors.
Platform administration : administer LMS (e.g., Canvas / Moodle / TalentLMS), Zoom, Slack / Discord, Google Drive; maintain documentation and SOPs.
Localization : coordinate translation / subtitling from Cohort 2 onward (ES / PT / HI pilots); adapt schedules and assets for regional holidays and bandwidth constraints.
Credentialing & assessment : ensure assignments and capstone deliverables are graded; issue Open Badges and certificates; oversee integrity and originality checks.
Data & reporting : build dashboards (Sheets / Airtable); monitor funnel conversion, attendance, completion, NPS / CSAT, and credential issuance; publish weekly and post‑cohort reports.
Budget & vendor management : track spend vs. plan; process honoraria and learner micro‑grants; manage vendor contracts and platform seats.
Stakeholders : coordinate with sponsors / partners on benefits delivery (naming, talks, demos) while maintaining an editorial / academic firewall.
Risk & safeguarding : implement safety protocols, privacy practices, and incident response; manage consent; ensure ethical use of AI tools in coursework.
