Barclays bank is one of the leading players in the loans market globally. The bank lends bilaterally, acts as an agent or a syndicate lender on several high value loan arrangements consisting of more than one investor and facilitates. The trading of these loans happens in the Primary and secondary market where the loan positions are traded among the lenders (called as buyer and seller). The US Loan trade closing team is responsible for reviewing the trades, Inventories on the day-to-day transactions / payments occurring because of trading of the loans and coordinating with other lenders, counterparties, and closers to ensure seamless and timely closing of the trades. The team also performs various other activities like lender list preparation, aligning trade in working for them to get signed, working on the missing AL / BCs. As a Barclays Third Party Loan Closer, the team will be maintaining a portfolio of Secondary LSTA loan trades from trade date through to settlement, while working within a team reporting to the head of US Loan Closing, working closely with KYC, sales and trading desk, legal, and operations settlements but is not limited to the following :

Overall purpose of role

Reviewing of LSTA Secondary trade documents; Transfer Certificates, Multi-lateral netting agreements

Liaising with trade counterparties, legal counsel, both internal and external as required to ensure documents are in order for a smooth settlement

Reviewing of Credit Agreements to assess transferability requirements and restrictions.

Liaising with the Operations trade settlements team to instruct the settlement of trades Monitor positions to ensure the trade and settled positions are reconciled

Keeping senior members of the loan sales and trading desk and closing team management of potential issues with trade settlements

Work alongside the KYC team to ensure all internal checks are complete prior to trade settlements

Key Accountabilities

Act as a subject matter expert by developing excellent understanding of procedures

Working in partnership with the closers and other Investment banking operations teams to ensure that we are able to turnaround the closing of the trades within the agreed SLA

React spontaneously to urgent requests and perform the required maker / checker activities

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

Liaise with the team heads / deputy heads, providing feedback to aid performance development for other members of the Support Team

Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Group
