Role Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow Platform Engineer to design, build, customize, and maintain the ServiceNow platform for our organization.
The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, understanding business requirements, ensuring platform performance and reliability, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Configure, develop, and maintain workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, script includes, UI actions etc., on the ServiceNow platform.Customize and extend ServiceNow out-of-the-box modules (e.g. ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CMDB, GRC etc.) to meet business requirements.Integrate ServiceNow with other systems using REST, SOAP, APIs, MID-Servers, etc.Manage data import / export, data integrity, asset management, and maintain the CMDB.Handle instance administration : upgrades, patching, change management, release management.Build dashboards, reports, Performance Analytics and Platform Analytics to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.Support incident, problem and change management processes (ITIL aligned).Participate in platform governance : enforce best practices, coding standards, security, access controls.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensure platform stability, performance and availability.Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and other engineers to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, and plan enhancements.Maintain documentation : configuration details, design documents, release notes, knowledge base.Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Strong hands-on experience (typically 3-5+ years for mid-level, more for senior) working on ServiceNow platform configuration, development and administration.Certification(s) in ServiceNow : Certified System Administrator (CSA) is usually mandatory; additional ones such as Certified Application Developer, Implementation Specialist, or module-specific certs are a plus.Proficiency in scripting within ServiceNow : JavaScript, Glide scripting (GlideRecord, GlideAggregate etc.), client / server scripts.Experience with integrations : REST / SOAP web services, APIs, MID-Server setup etc.Good understanding of ITSM / ITIL processes, CMDB, asset management, change, incident, problem management.Experience working with modules like HR Service Delivery (HRSD), Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), IT Operations Management (ITOM) etc. would be a plus depending on domain.Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders, technical teams, and possibly external vendors.Ability to work in an agile environment, manage multiple tasks, prioritize business needs.(ref : hirist.tech)
