About the Role :

The Client Engineering team leverages deep technical product knowledge and agile development skills to build and implement Foodsmart solutions. This team is crucial in developing bespoke solutions, and optimizing implementation tools to exceed expectations. The Client Engineer proactively identifies and solves for inefficiencies, develops purposeful product features and toolsets, and contributes to sound technical solutions. You will be a key technical contributor, focused on the underlying systems and development needed to support our evolving platform and client needs, even as processes may be rapidly established or refined. Your technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and adaptability to changing priorities will be essential in propelling our mission to positively influence lives through the synergy of technology and nutrition.

You will :

Translate recurring platform problems or requests into well-designed technical solutions aligned with our product strategy and architecture principles.

Develop and prototype proof-of-concept solutions for complex use cases or new markets (e.g., new integrations or workflows).

Partner with the Product team to design and develop client-impacting tools or features within existing product development sprints.

Identify technical debt, and scope sound, scalable new or customized solutions.

Represent technical status and blockers on internal project calls, escalating to your leadership when appropriate.

Perform hands-on configuration of system settings and e-file formats based on requirements.

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including integration specifications, file formats, Standard Operating Procedures, and troubleshooting steps, creating new templates as needed.

Design and implement APIs that define a standard for how Foodsmart sends and receives data to all clients and vendors, providing a foundation for all new integration needs including FHIR, HL7v2, SSO, etc..

Establish and uphold development practices, including code reviews and comprehensive testing, to enhance code quality and system performance.

Debug and resolve production issues with urgency.

Proactively monitor and optimize system operation and the successful transmission of data to and from our ecosystem.

Stay informed about emerging technologies and propose ways to leverage them in current and future development.

Firm in your understanding of software engineering principles including systems design, data structures, code management, command line utilities, data integration, front end configuration and tooling, SQL, and client portal development.

You have :

7+ years of experience in a full-stack or hybrid engineering role that includes custom delivery, configuration, solution design, and product development, preferably in a high-growth environment.

Proven experience understanding problems, designing, building, and delivering quality, timely technical solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Hands-on development of API integrations, data mapping, and custom scripting / development.

Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex, matrixed issues.

Proficiency with Python, Typescript, SSO (SAML and OAuth), and systems integration.

Prior experience with QA methodologies and executing unit tests.

Working knowledge of eligibility file import ETLs and healthcare file formats such as 834 or HL7.

Working knowledge of Jira / Confluence and networking protocols (e.g., TCP / IP, HTTP, FTP).

Exceptional knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and implementing them for optimal performance.

Strong command of SQL and non-relational databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra. Experience with MySQL is a plus.

Prior experience developing functionality using AWS services like Lambda, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, and EC2.
