As a Mission Systems Engineer, you will drive mission analysis, system design, ground‑segment planning, and research coordination for our satellite constellation. You'll work across engineering, R&D, and operations teams to ensure that every satellite passes through launch, commissioning, and routine operations safely and efficiently—delivering data to our end users on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Mission Analysis & Design
- Model and simulate end‑to‑end mission scenarios to optimize constellation performance
- Perform orbit design, coverage analysis, revisit and access studies
- Ground Segment Planning
- Evaluate, select, and coordinate ground station assets to maximize data down link and command capability.
- Develop contact schedules, link‑budget assessments, and station handover strategies
- Systems Integration & Coordination
- Translate mission requirements into system‑level specifications for onboard payloads and subsystems
- Collaborate closely with Mission Operations to plan and sequence satellite activities (e.g., payload imaging, maneuvers, housekeeping)
- Sync with the Mission R&D team to define and execute research initiatives on satellite system performance, new payload concepts, and advanced algorithms
- Ensure smooth hand off between design, flight operations, and data‑processing teams
- Analysis & Reporting
- Generate detailed reports on mission performance metrics, risk assessments, and anomaly investigations.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve reliability, coverage, and data throughput
