InvestWell - Backend Engineer - Node.js / NestJS

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient server-side applications and APIs using Node.js.
• Design and optimize database schemas in MySQL, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity and security.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and mentor other engineers to maintain a high standard of code quality and software development best practices.
• Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, and optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability.
• Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services, and manage data exchange between the server and user-facing elements.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI / CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and application Skills & Qualifications Experience : 6-8 years of professional experience in backend Core Languages : Expert proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Node.js is a must. Knowledge of TypeScript is a strong Frameworks : Deep experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, or Databases : Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, including database design, query optimization, and schema migration. Experience with other databases like PostgreSQL or NoSQL is a APIs : Proven ability to design and implement RESTful and / or GraphQL Architectural Patterns : Solid understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous & Platforms Version Control : Git is Cloud : Experience with major cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Containerization : Familiarity with Docker and Testing : Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or Monitoring : Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus or Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong foundation in data structures and Attributes Communication : Strong written and verbal communication Teamwork : Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment
