Position Overview

Vellichor Media is looking for an Assistant Editor who will play a vital role in the editorial production cycle — supporting the Managing Editor and contributing to content planning, editing, and publication.

This role is ideal for someone with a sharp editorial eye, strong writing instincts, and a passion for transforming ideas into compelling stories. The candidate will work closely with designers, and marketing teams to ensure every article, feature, and campaign reflects our high standards of clarity, accuracy, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in planning and managing editorial calendars across print and digital editions.

Edit and proofread articles, interviews, and features for tone, flow, and factual accuracy.

Coordinate with writers, contributors, and subject-matter experts to ensure timely submissions.

Write short-form content such as introductions, blurbs, and promotional copy when required.

Ensure content aligns with brand voice, publication style, and SEO best practices.

Support the Managing Editor in reviewing layouts, approving final proofs, and maintaining production schedules.

Research emerging topics and trends to support editorial strategy.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.

1–2 years of editorial experience in publishing, media, or corporate communications.

Strong command of English grammar and storytelling structure.

Excellent editing and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Familiarity with content management systems (WordPress or equivalent).

Working knowledge of SEO principles and social media publishing.

Strong multitasking and time-management abilities in fast-paced production cycles.
