Business Analyst I

Job Summary :

Performs data aggregation and reporting activities in areas of a Business Unit that are key to its success.

Responsibilities :

• Defines and documents customer business functions and processes.
• Develops and documents business and processes, functions and procedures; handle multiple and parallel projects.
• Consults with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
• Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
• Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and / or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and / or operational changes.
• Plans, organizes and conducts business process reengineering / improvement projects.
• Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations on administrative, management and procedural practices and other complex business problems; analyzes, evaluates and integrates business processes and procedures.
• Researches and prepares statistical reports using data from various data bases and internal surveys. Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.
• Conducts change impact analysis to assess the potential implications of changes and documents business rules, functions and requirements.
• Provides work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Requirements :

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree, First Degree, Trade / Vocational School certificate or Equivalent required. Degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Occasionally exert up to 10 lbs. of force to push, pull, lift or otherwise move objects. Have visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data; and / or viewing a computer terminal. Type and / or sit for extended periods of time. Consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
