Job Title : Line Manager – Assembly (Electric 2-Wheelers)

Role Overview
The Line Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving the assembly operations for electric 2-wheelers. The role ensures efficient production output, high-quality standards, cost control, manpower management, safety compliance, and coordination with Quality, Stores, R&D, and Maintenance teams.
Key Responsibilities 1. Production & Line Management
- Plan and execute daily and weekly production targets for the assembly line.
- Ensure smooth assembly workflow, takt time adherence, and workstation balance.
- Monitor daily OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency), throughput, and defect rates.
- Optimize line layout, manpower allocation, and tooling usage.
2. Quality & Compliance
Ensure assembly processes strictly follow SOPs, work instructions, and torque settings.Drive First Time Right (FTR) builds and reduce rework and rejection rates.Work with QC and QA teams to analyze failure modes and implement corrective / preventive actions.Ensure adherence to ISO / IATF / TS standards where applicable.3. People & Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and discipline 30–120 line operators / technicians (depending on line scale).Conduct daily line huddles (Safety → Quality → Delivery → Cost → Morale).Train operators for new models, checkpoints, safety practices, and process improvements.Evaluate operator skill matrices and plan cross-training to avoid line stoppages.4. Material, Inventory & Coordination
Coordinate with Stores & Logistics for timely material availability.Ensure FIFO, correct part issuance, and traceability (battery, motor, controller, wiring harness).Escalate material shortages and capacity bottlenecks early.5. Maintenance & Safety
Work with Maintenance to ensure zero unscheduled downtime.Ensure all power tools, torque tools, jigs, fixtures, and conveyors are calibrated and safe.Enforce PPE use and safe handling of batteries and electrical assemblies.6. Process Improvement & Reporting
Implement lean practices : 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, TPM, and productivity enhancement.Track and report daily production dashboards, losses, and improvement actions.Support new product introduction (NPI) trials and build feedback loops to design / R&D teams.Qualifications & Competencies Education
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.Experience
4–12 years total experience in manufacturing assembly (preferred : EV, Automotive, E-Bikes, 2-Wheelers, Consumer Durables).Must have hands-on experience running an assembly line or sub-assembly zone.Technical Skills
Knowledge of electric drivetrains : BLDC / Hub Motors, Controllers, BMS, Battery Packs, CAN communication (plus point).Understanding of torque tools, wiring harness routing, and dynamic testing.Strong grasp of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke methods.Soft Skills
