US Tax Associate

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated US Tax Associate to join our tax compliance and advisory team in Ahmedabad. The role involves preparing US federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses, conducting tax research, and ensuring compliance with IRS regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, familiarity with US tax concepts, and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare US Individual (Form 1040) , Partnership (1065) , Corporate (1120 / 1120S) , and other relevant tax returns.

Assist in preparation of state tax filings , estimated tax payments , and extensions .

Review financial data, trial balances, and supporting documents for tax return accuracy.

Perform basic to intermediate tax research on IRS codes, regulations, and case laws.

Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with US GAAP and IRS standards.

Communicate with internal teams / clients to clarify data, resolve queries, and ensure smooth workflow.

Support senior tax professionals during tax planning and advisory projects.

Work on tax software such as Lacerte, ProConnect, GoSystem, Drake, or UltraTax (depending on the firm).

Ensure timely completion of tasks during peak tax season.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field .

Knowledge of US tax basics , federal and state filing requirements.

Experience with tax software (preferred but not mandatory).

Strong MS Excel and analytical skills.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Willingness to work extended hours during tax season.
