About the opportunity :

The POS Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the automated test cases for the Point of Sale GUI applications. This person will work with the Development and QA teams to identify the test cases for automation, define and document requirements, analyze target applications / systems under test, develop automated tests, execute automated tests, analyze the results, maintain the systems and data repository.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborates with development, QA and business analysts in identifying test script requirements.
• Reports and analyzes test results and discovered defects.
• Maintains automated testing tools as needed.
• Provides accurate project estimates for assigned tasks as requested by the automation project lead.
• Supports the functional test teams in their execution of automated cases.
• Minimum of three or more (3+) years of recent hands-on experience with designing, coding, and executing automated test solutions using Selenium, Java and Cucumber.
• Minimum of five (5+) years of progressive, hands-on software quality assurance experience, with a sound understanding of quality processes and methodologies.
• Understanding of HTML, DOM, and XPath.
• Understanding of build and release management tools in either ADO, GitHub, Jenkins.
• Must understand object-oriented programming and demonstrate technical design skills.
• Ability to mentor other Quality Engineers, Automation analysts and members of the QA team in automated test execution and troubleshooting.
• Excellent skills in all of the following areas : analysis and problem solving, good development practices, troubleshooting, debugging and code maintenance.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to effectively multitask.
• Willingness and ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion with minimal guidance.
• Innovative, creative, and responsive team player with a solid work ethic and strong sense of urgency.
