Senior Software Engineer

What you’ll do

As an SSE in our Engineering department, you’ll have the chance to :

Lead technology research initiatives to explore and evaluate new tools and technologies aimed at enhancing development workflows and improving system performance. Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of adopting emerging technologies such as Java 21, GraalVM, and service mesh etc. Drive the adoption and evangelization of research findings across the organization. Additionally, design and develop end-to-end microservices solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Python Flask within a Kubernetes and Docker environment. Utilize CI / CD pipelines to deploy and manage services in production, ensuring system stability and performance through monitoring tools like Grafana and Sensu. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mentor junior developers, define best practices, and deliver high-quality output.

Key stakeholders include the Development Teams of various products and tech Leads of various teams across Engineering, Data Science and Analytics.

What you’ll bring

• 4-8 years of experience developing with Java, Spring Boot, and Python Flask.
• Experience in exploration / research of tools, and frameworks, conducting POCs
• Strong passion for exploring and experimenting with cutting-edge technologies.
• Design and develop reusable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Implement automated tests using testing frameworks such as testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Karate to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to maintain code quality and consistency.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development trends, tools, and technologies, and actively share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

What impact will you create?

You will identify & evangelise frameworks and methodologies for building highly available, high-performance systems. You ensure that design / architecture documents incorporate these practices and introduce new tools and methodologies when appropriate to simplify or increase the efficiency of development. You’ll drive the evaluation of new tools via POCs and continuously evaluate how the team operates in different areas of software engineering. You will Initiate changes necessary to move the team a step higher in adopting best practices, critique the software product design and architecture and contribute to its evolution from the inception.
