EY GDS Business Consulting – Business Transformation (Senior) – BCM Consultant (Islamic Banking)

As part of our Business Consulting team, we are currently seeking highly motivated professionals, to help EY clients across sectors on their Business Transformation agenda projects. Within Business Transformation, you'll work as part of a high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience related to Islamic Banking or Islamic Finance, helping client organisations to drive value. We work with our clients to help them achieve operational efficiency, innovative product and service management strategies, and optimized financial planning structures.

The opportunity

We're looking for a Senior with expertise in Islamic Banking / Islamic Finances to support EY clients in their strategic initiatives focused on designing new products and services offering, optimizing operating frameworks, enhancing regulatory reporting, and developing actionable insights to drive value and capable in manging large transformation projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Within Business Transformation, you'll work as part of a high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience.
• Supporting High-Impact Islamic Banking Transformation: Contribute to multiple project streams focused on Islamic Banking, ensuring effective delivery of transformation initiatives that align with client objectives and industry standards, particularly in Islamic finance.
• Assisting in Designing Islamic Banking Products and Services: Collaborate with clients to design and develop innovative Islamic Banking products and services that meet market demands and comply with Sharia principles, ensuring alignment with client objectives and customer needs.
• Designing Operating Models & Solution Frameworks: Assist in developing and refining operating models that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery, specifically tailored to Islamic Banking strategies within retail / corporate segments.
• Enhancing Customer Experience: Identify opportunities for targeted improvements in customer experience, applying insights to develop solutions that enhance client offerings in Islamic Retail and Corporate Banking, thereby improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Development: Collaborate closely with banking stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams to develop practical, data-driven solutions that support clients in achieving measurable improvements in business performance within the Islamic Banking landscape.
• Research & Insight Generation: Conduct in-depth research on industry trends, regulatory developments, and customer behaviour in Islamic Banking, synthesizing insights to inform strategy, operating model design, and innovation opportunities for clients.
• Strategic Storytelling & Analytical Support: Develop clear, data-driven insights and recommendations, supporting the presentation of complex information in a structured, understandable format that demonstrates strategic value to banking stakeholders.
• Leveraging Global Methodologies & Tools: Apply and adapt global frameworks, tools, and accelerators to drive transformation, operational efficiency, and customer-focused solutions in Islamic Banking.
• Thought Leadership & Knowledge Building: Participate in internal and external knowledge-sharing initiatives, including industry-focused roundtables and topic discussions, contributing to the firm's thought leadership in Islamic Corporate and Retail Banking.
• Client Communication & Event Preparation: Support the preparation of client communications and industry event materials to foster engagement and position the firm as a trusted advisor within the Islamic Banking sector.
• Business Development Support: Assist in go-to-market and business development activities to expand the firm's presence and impact in Islamic Corporate and Retail Banking segments.

• Ability to communicate, making complex systems and situations simple to understand. You'll communication visually, verbally and in written reports.
• Ability to manage projects –we help our client solve their complex technology challenges. You will need good project delivery skills to manage and deliver the projects across our key clients.
• Ability to learn new ideas and capabilities rapidly through self–driven learning and research. You'll need to be able to assimilate new ideas and information rapidly.
• Good Research Skills exposure to various research tools and ability to conduct deep level of research on specific topics related to the Business Consulting/ Transformation engagements.
• Ability to benchmark client requirements against leading practices and identify client pain points and opportunities.
• Good leadership skills to enhance the relationship with key stakeholders and develop new business opportunities.
  
  

To qualify for the role, you must have.

• Master's degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Islamic Banking or Islamic Finance
• Solid understanding of Islamic banking products, principles, and financial structures
• Working experience in Financial Services is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Arabic speaking and writing skills are an added advantage
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify key insights and contribute to actionable recommendations for clients
• Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with banking stakeholders at various levels to foster alignment and buy-in
• Ability to work effectively in dynamic environments, responding to shifting priorities and applying creative problem-solving to address client challenges in Islamic Banking
• Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
• Willing to travel onsite on client assignments
