Role Overview :

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Cassandra, Elastic Search, MariaDB, and AWS to join our global technology team. The role involves designing, administering, monitoring, and optimizing enterprise-wide database systems while ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.

Key Responsibilities (KRAs) :

  • Administer, configure, and optimize Cassandra, Elastic Search, and MariaDB database environments.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies for critical database systems.
  • Perform database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production issues.
  • Execute software installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across environments.
  • Establish and enforce database standards, best practices, and security protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain capacity planning, data integrity, and system health across platforms.
  • Perform database backup, recovery, and replication management.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams for seamless database integration.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex database issues and vendor management.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for enterprise production databases.
  • Document database configurations, operational processes, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate potential security vulnerabilities in database systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 47 years of hands-on DBA experience with Cassandra or other large-scale NoSQL database technologies.
  • Strong experience with Elastic Search (clustering, scalability, high availability, performance optimization).
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, shell scripting, and automation (Shell, Python, Perl).
  • Experience in database and cross-platform upgrades.
  • Knowledge of network connectivity, storage (SAN), and data replication techniques.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management tools such as ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and incident resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of MariaDB administration and optimization.
  • Understanding of data modeling and schema design.
  • Exposure to CI / CD pipelines and database automation.
