Job Title : Mulesoft Backend Designer

Experience : 8+ Years

Location : Bangalore / Gurgaon (Hybrid)

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Mulesoft Backend Designer to join our team in Bangalore or Gurgaon. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in API-led design, Mulesoft architecture, and backend integration patterns, with a proven ability to translate high-level architecture into scalable, secure, and resilient technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design and implement Mulesoft-based backend solutions aligned with enterprise architectural principles.
  • Translate business and solution architecture requirements into detailed API-specific technical designs.
  • Develop and maintain API specifications using RAML and enforce API governance standards.
  • Leverage DataWeave for data transformation, enrichment, and complex mappings.
  • Define and implement backend system integration patterns, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Apply security standards including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and TLS across all API designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architects, developers, DevOps, QA) to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Conduct design reviews, provide technical guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Optimize APIs for resilience, performance, and fault tolerance in production environments.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of experience in backend / API design and development, with at least 3+ years on Mulesoft.
  • Strong knowledge of Mulesoft architectural principles and API-led connectivity approach.
  • Hands-on expertise in RAML, DataWeave, and API specification standards.
  • Proficiency in backend system integration with enterprise systems / databases.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS).
  • Experience designing for high availability, scalability, and performance optimization.
  • Exposure to CI / CD pipelines, API monitoring, and logging tools is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, design thinking, and communication skills.
