Punjabi News Reporter

for its Punjabi edition.

Responsibilities

Report daily news focused on the Punjabi community, India–US relations, diaspora issues, immigration, culture, and breaking developments

File clean, accurate, well-sourced stories under tight deadlines

Conduct interviews and cover events (virtual and on-ground)

Generate original story ideas regularly

Collaborate with editors in Washington DC and India

Requirements

Strong command of Punjabi (Gurmukhi) and English

two-three years of reporting experience

Ability to write crisp, factual, AP / Reuters-style news copy

Strong news judgment and familiarity with India–US diaspora beats

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom environment

Solid knowledge of social media platforms and digital news distribution
