Purpose of the Job

The Application Support engineer will be part of the team supporting Nouryon’s Digital Support DevOps team. We are seeking a highly skilled Application Support engineer to ensure the upkeep of high-quality custom web applications on Microsoft technologies of our Web based enterprise applications. This includes ensuring alignment with business needs, compliance with industry best practices, and delivering outstanding application experience.

This role is responsible for support and maintenance of applications and ensure the SLA s are met for the custom-built applications.

The team will work in a DevOps methodology, and team’s efforts will be prioritized and coordinated by the Product Owner / Team Lead / Scrum Master.

About the job (Job Responsibilities)

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to validate and understand their requirements.
  • Strong focus on providing excellent customer support and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical issues and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Contribute to team agile planning activities and backlog prioritization and management.
  • Identify and escalate any application issues or risks to the team and provide suggestions for resolution.
  • Continuously improve development processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness of development activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and develop strategies, frameworks relating to their emerging demands.
  • Driving innovation / adoption of Industry practices through investigation / institutionalization of new tools / methods / standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with stakeholders and documenting support processes and solutions.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and learn about evolving applications and systems.
  • Create documents and make sure that they are reviewed and approved by appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in estimation of User Stories in Story points and commit the efforts required.
  • Develop to cover all user stories acceptance criteria and honor timely deliveries.
  • Understanding of content management system (CMS) like EPiServer / Optimizely.
  • Resolve production incidents or defects as needed and proactively identify potential issues. before they appear in the production environment;

contribute to the root cause analysis.

  • Drive high performance and accountability for own deliverables.
  • Actively participate and contribute into the sprint activities and ceremonies e.G. daily stand-up, Sprint planning, retrospectives, refinements etc.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve the sprint objectives.
  • Drive continual service improvements.
  • Drive knowledge sharing efforts in organization.
  • Periodic standby for emergencies.
  • We believe you bring (Education & Experience)

  • Master / bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and diagnosing application issues using tools like New Relic, AppDynamics, or similar APM solutions.
  • Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks and providing recommendations for improvement knowledge of some of the tools / platform such as ASP.NET, C#, SQL, EPiServer CMS, EPiServer Commerce, EPiServer Find, EPiServer Forms, Episerver Content Delivery API, EPiServer Deployment API, EPiServer DXP. REST API. in River -Control center, Enrich, Rest API. Azure-OAuth, Azure Storage, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines.
  • Experience in GIT.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automating support tasks and workflows
  • Expertise in analyzing application logs to identify errors, exceptions, and performance indicators.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies, Solutions Development, Digital Experience.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage and resolve application-related incidents, including performing root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
