Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Catering Stock Manager located in Kolkata. The Catering Stock Manager will be responsible for managing and controlling stock and inventory for catering events. Daily tasks include monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, receiving and organizing inventory, keeping accurate records, and ensuring that stock levels meet event requirements. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the catering team and providing excellent customer service to ensure smooth event execution.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management : Track and maintain accurate stock levels of food, beverages, cutlery, linens, and catering supplies.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination : Coordinate with suppliers for timely purchase and delivery of required items.

Quality Control : Inspect all items upon delivery to ensure they meet company quality standards.

Stock Rotation : Monitor expiry dates, manage FIFO (First-In-First-Out) method to prevent spoilage.

Cost Control : Manage budgets, minimize wastage, and record usage for cost analysis.

Event Coordination : Work closely with event planners, kitchen staff, and service teams to ensure required materials are ready before each event.

Documentation : Maintain purchase logs, stock reports, and consumption records.

Logistics Support : Oversee loading / unloading, packing, and returning unused stock after events.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in catering, hotel, or event inventory management Strong organizational and time-management skills Negotiation skills with suppliers / vendors Basic knowledge of food safety and storage guidelines Proficiency in stock tracking tools or Excel Ability to work under pressure during peak event days
