Work Schedule : Eastern Time Zone (5 : 00 PM - 1 : 00 AM IST)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer for an exciting contract opportunity with a premier Canadian client. This role focuses on ensuring the quality of enterprise-scale data solutions and ETL pipelines. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in automated testing, data validation, and cloud-based data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute comprehensive test strategies for data pipelines and ETL processes
Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for data applications using industry-standard tools
Validate data accuracy, integrity, and transformations across enterprise data platforms
Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle
Perform SQL-based database testing and data validation
Conduct performance testing for large-scale data systems
Implement continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes
Track and manage defects through resolution

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software quality engineering

3+ years of experience testing enterprise data systems and ETL processes

Strong hands-on experience with : PySpark for data processing and testing

DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation testing

ETL automation and validation

Automated testing frameworks (Pytest, API automation tools)

Proficiency in SQL and Python for test automation

Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow or similar)

Knowledge of CI / CD practices and tools (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Azure Fabric or Azure Data Factory

Knowledge of event-driven streaming platforms (Kafka, Event Hubs)

Performance testing experience with JMeter or LoadRunner

ISTQB or relevant quality assurance certifications

Experience with data governance and compliance

Important Information

This is a contract position requiring availability during Eastern Time business hours

Candidates must be comfortable working 5 : 00 PM - 1 : 00 AM IST

Must have reliable internet connection and suitable remote work setup (Laptop will be provided by Organisation)

There will be two rounds of interviews - the first will be conducted virtually, and the second will take place in either Bangalore or Chennai.
