Job Description – SAP e-Invoicing Integration Consultant (SAP ECC + SAP DRC + SAP BTP)

1. Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP e-Invoicing Integration Consultant to assess, design, and implement integration of statutory e-Invoices with SAP ECC Accounts Receivable using SAP Document and Reporting Compliance (DRC) and SAP BTP Integration Suite .

The consultant will provide an effort estimate, validate feasibility, define the architecture, and potentially lead the implementation project.

2. Key Responsibilities

Assessment & Solution Design

Conduct a detailed review of the current SAP ECC AR landscape and invoice processes.

Validate feasibility of integrating statutory e-Invoice with ECC using :

SAP DRC (Document & Reporting Compliance)

SAP BTP Integration Suite (CPI)

API-based or adapter-based integration

Provide a solution architecture , integration flow, and compliance mapping.

Implementation

Configure SAP DRC for e-Invoicing, including :

country-specific e-invoice frameworks

business rules

electronic document formats (JSON / XML)

Develop integration flows in SAP BTP / CPI to push invoices to government portals / IRPs.

Map ECC AR data (billing documents, FI-AR invoices) to DRC formats.

Manage error handling, retries, and acknowledgements.

Handle compliance scenarios like cancellations, amendments, QR code, digital signatures, etc.

Testing & Delivery

Create functional & technical documentation.

Conduct unit testing, SIT, UAT cycles.

Support go-live, hypercare, and end-user training.

Provide effort estimation and project plan for full rollout.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work with finance, AR teams, and technical teams.

Coordinate with SAP OSS for DRC notes / config issues.

Ensure solution meets statutory and compliance requirements.

3. Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC (FI / AR, SD billing) .

Mandatory experience with SAP Document & Reporting Compliance (DRC) for e-Invoicing.

Expertise in SAP BTP Integration Suite / CPI (iFlows, APIs, adapters, certificates).

Experience with REST / SOAP APIs, JSON / XML formats, and integration with statutory portals (e.g., IRP).

Understanding of output management, IDoc / Proxy interfaces, tax compliance content.

Ability to debug ECC processes : billing, accounting documents, output, RFCs, etc.

Preferred Experience

Prior e-Invoice implementations in India or other statutory environments.

Experience with SAP Notes , OSS, compliance content updates.

Experience integrating ECC with BTP for any compliance or reporting scenario.

Soft Skills

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to estimate efforts, identify risks, and propose mitigation.

Ability to mentor technical teams and work independently.

4. Experience Level

6 to 12+ years total SAP experience

Minimum 2+ end-to-end e-Invoice implementations preferable

At least 1 project using SAP DRC + BTP / CPI
