OpenMetadata Job description

1. 5+ years of experience in data governance, Open metadata management, or data catalog implementation.

2. Hands-on expertise with Open Metadata (installation, configuration, integration).

3. Experience with data catalog / governance platforms (e.g., Collibra) is a plus.

4. Strong knowledge of SQL, data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks etc.), and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).

5. Familiarity with metadata ingestion frameworks, APIs, and connectors.

6. Understanding of data privacy and compliance (GDPR, CCPA, SOC2).

7. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with business and technical teams.

Skillsets and Expertise :

• OpenMetadata Implementation & Administration
• Deploy, configure, and manage OpenMetadata in our environment (on-prem / cloud).
• Integrate OpenMetadata with databases, ETL pipelines, BI tools, and data lake / warehouse.
• Customize metadata ingestion workflows for batch and streaming sources.
• Enable data lineage, usage tracking, and schema evolution monitoring.
• Governance & Stewardship
• Build and manage a business glossary and data dictionary.
• Define data ownership, stewardship, and access policies.
• Set up role-based access controls (RBAC) and ensure compliance with data privacy requirements.
• Implement data quality rules and monitoring using OpenMetadata features.
• Collaboration & Enablement
• Partner with data architects, engineers, and BI developers to ensure metadata coverage.
• Provide training and support for OpenMetadata adoption across business and technical teams.
• Evangelize metadata-first culture to improve trust and transparency in data.
