About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to head our Academic Partnerships function within Operations. This individual will be responsible for driving high-impact collaborations with universities, colleges, accreditation bodies, and global education partners. The role demands a proven leader with a strong network in academia and edtech, who can structure and scale partnerships that significantly enhance our reach and learner impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the academic partnerships strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Build, strengthen, and scale strategic alliances with universities, higher education institutions, and accreditation bodies (India and international).
- Lead end-to-end partnership lifecycle : prospecting, negotiation, structuring agreements, onboarding, and scaling joint programs.
- Drive collaborations to ensure high learner adoption, accreditation compliance, and long-term program sustainability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, Operations) to ensure seamless execution of partnership-driven initiatives.
- Monitor and manage financial outcomes of partnerships including revenue, costs, and profitability.
- Represent the organization at industry forums, academic councils, and networking platforms.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team to deliver on strategic academic goals.
Key Requirements
Experience : 10–15 years in academic partnerships, business development, or alliances—preferably in edtech, higher education, or healthcare learning sectors .Leadership Background : Prior senior role in companies such as Unacademy, Udemy, Coursera, Simplilearn, or similar edtech / start-up organizations with demonstrable success in building academic tie-ups.Network : Strong existing relationships with universities, colleges, accreditation bodies, and industry councils (India & global).Expertise : Deep knowledge of national & international accreditation frameworks, digital education standards, and partnership governance.Business Acumen : Proven experience in managing revenue, costs, and profitability within academic partnership models.Skills : Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior academic and industry leaders.Interested candidates can share their resumes to bhavani_gu@medvarsity.com
