Azure Administrator L2 – Job Description
📌 Role Overview
The Azure Administrator L2 is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing Microsoft Azure cloud environments. This role requires hands-on experience with Azure services, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support escalations from L1 teams while ensuring high availability, security, and performance of cloud resources.
⚡ Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor Azure resources (VMs, storage accounts, networking, databases, etc.)
- Implement and maintain Azure Active Directory, RBAC, and identity management
- Configure and manage Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers)
- Perform patching, updates, and routine maintenance of Azure workloads
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues escalated from L1 support
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, CLI, or ARM templates
- Ensure compliance with security policies and governance standards
- Collaborate with developers, security teams, and other IT staff to support cloud solutions
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
🎯 Required Skills & Experience
5-7 years of experience in Azure administration or cloud infrastructureStrong knowledge of Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, Monitoring)Hands-on experience with Azure AD, RBAC, MFA, Conditional AccessProficiency in PowerShell scripting and Azure CLIExperience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights)Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery)Familiarity with governance tools (Azure Policy, Blueprints, Cost Management)Understanding of hybrid cloud setups (on-prem + Azure)Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and documentation abilities🎓 Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred)Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent certification🚀 Soft Skills
