About the company and the role :
We’re helping a US-based healthtech company build its founding India engineering team. The company is focused on improving care for low-income patients with complex needs — blending in-person, virtual, and 24 / 7 care with their own tech and care teams. They partner with community providers and health plans to deliver primary, behavioral, and social care as a seamless experience.
This role is core to that mission — leading a growing engineering team to build high-impact systems that rewire healthcare delivery through AI and thoughtful technology.
What you’ll do
- Own the day-to-day of engineering delivery across multiple projects
- Translate complex healthcare workflows into scalable product and tech decisions
- Partner closely with Product, Clinical Ops, and other teams to define and ship the right things fast
- Maintain a high bar for engineering velocity, quality, and culture — balancing speed vs. debt
- Help build and mentor a team of 12+ engineers (across backend, data, and platform)
- Lead agile processes : sprint planning, retrospectives, and execution reviews
- Define and track engineering metrics and continuous improvement efforts
You should have
12+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in leadership rolesHands-on experience scaling teams and production systems in fast-moving environmentsComfort across backend systems – Go, Scala, Java preferredStrong communication and collaboration skills across tech and non-tech stakeholdersExperience in healthcare is a plus, but not requiredWhy this role matters
