Job descriptionBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Commerce, Agriculture, or related fields. MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Materials Management (preferred). 10+ years of experience in procurement within the industry. Strong understanding of raw materials, supply markets, and vendor ecosystems. Proven negotiation skills and experience in high-volume procurement. Strong analytical, planning, and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and vendor management skills. Proficiency in procurement systems, SAP / ERP tools, and MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Preference for candidates originating from or based in South India due to regional sourcing requirements.
Role & Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials, packaging materials, and other required supplies.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
- Conduct cost analysis, negotiate pricing, and manage contracts to achieve optimal cost efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and availability of raw materials within the sector.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements related to procurement.
- Collaborate with production, quality, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing activities with organizational goals.
- Maintain and optimize inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers across South India and other key regions.
- Prepare purchase reports, MIS, and documentation for audits and management reviews.
