Location : Chetpet, Chennai

Role Description :

Biotastic is scaling fast across sales, operations, installation / project execution, warehouse, and marketing. We need an HR leader who can build a high-performance team, install systems + accountability, and make sure hiring, culture, and execution speed support growth.

Key Outcomes (90–180 day targets)

  • Hiring engine running : clear JDs, scorecards, sourcing pipelines, interviewing process, offer closures, joining + retention.
  • Org clarity : functions → roles → responsibilities (FRR), KRAs / KPIs, reporting structure, and no-overlap workflows.
  • Performance culture : weekly scorecards, 1 : 1 cadence, probation / PIP process, fast exits where needed (clean documentation).
  • People ops system : attendance / leave, payroll coordination, HR policies, documentation, compliance.
  • Training rhythm : onboarding + product basics + sales / service etiquette + SOP adoption across teams.

Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition (Top Priority)

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for Sales, Ops, Support, Installation, Warehouse, Finance, and Marketing coordination roles.
  • Build scorecards for every role (must-have skills, traits, outcomes, red flags).
  • Create sourcing funnels (LinkedIn / Naukri / Indeed / refs / communities), screen fast, and maintain a live pipeline tracker.
  • Run structured interviews (behavioral + task-based), reference checks, and closing offers.
  • Partner with CEO / functional heads to forecast hiring needs monthly.
  • Organization Design + Role Clarity

  • Build and maintain an org chart and FRR (Functions, Roles, Responsibilities).
  • Define KRAs / KPIs for each role and set monthly performance expectations.
  • Implement SOP adherence and handoff rules between departments (sales → ops → installation → support).
  • Performance Management + Accountability

  • Set up a weekly dashboard : hiring, attendance, performance, issues, attrition.
  • Run probation reviews (30 / 60 / 90 days), performance feedback loops, and documentation.
  • Manage PIPs and terminations professionally with strong legal-safe documentation (in alignment with leadership / consultant).
  • People Operations + Compliance

  • Manage HR policies : attendance, leave, code of conduct, expense rules, discipline.
  • Coordinate payroll inputs with accounts;
  • track incentives / commissions with sales leader.

  • Maintain employee files, contracts, NDAs, onboarding docs;
  • ensure statutory basicsare handled (PF / ESI as applicable via vendor / CA).

  • Handle grievances, conflict resolution, and basic employee relations.
  • Culture + Training (Biotastic Standard)

  • Build onboarding program (Day 1–7–30 plan) including product training : Ice Bath / Sauna / RLT basics.
  • Drive a culture of speed, ownership, and customer obsession.
  • Conduct monthly training sessions : communication, execution discipline, SOP usage, role standards.
  • Who you are

  • 3–8 years experience in HR generalist + hiring in a fast-paced company (startup, D2C, B2B, retail, ops-heavy business).
  • Strong at closing hires and building pipelines—not just coordinating.
  • Can build systems : trackers, scorecards, SOPs, templates, policies.
  • Comfortable handling performance issues, conflict, and exits with maturity + documentation.
  • High urgency, organised, and able to push leaders / teams for updates and compliance.
  • Solid communication in English + Tamil / Hindi is a plus.
