Position Title : General Manager – Luxury 5-Star Resort (Pre-Opening & Operations)

Location : Gangtok, Sikkim

Employment Type : Full-time, On-site

Experience Required : 10+ years in luxury hospitality (pre-opening experience preferred)

About ZHYMKA

ZHYMKA is an independent 5-star hotel opening in the heart of Gangtok next year. The property

features 60 elegant rooms and suites, a luxury spa, specialty and all-day dining restaurants, a rooftop

pool and bar, banquet facilities, and breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga range. The vision is to

create a modern mountain luxury experience, blending contemporary hospitality with local Sikkimese

warmth and design sensibilities.

Role Summary

The General Manager will lead all pre-opening and post-opening operations, shaping the hotel’s

identity, building a passionate team, and driving operational and financial success. This is a hands-on

leadership role with significant autonomy and creative freedom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all pre-opening activities : vendor coordination, licensing, OS&E procurement, SOP

development, and recruitment.

  • Establish and maintain luxury brand standards and guest experience benchmarks.
  • Oversee operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, Sales & Marketing, and Finance.
  • Drive occupancy, ADR, GOP, and brand positioning for the property.
  • Build and mentor a strong leadership team, fostering a culture of service excellence.
  • Represent the property in marketing, partnerships, and media interactions.
  • Implement and optimize technology platforms (PMS, CRM, revenue management systems).

    • Qualifications & ExperienceRequirement Details

    Education : Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management

    Experience : 10–15 years in hospitality, with at least 2–3 years as GM, Hotel Manager, or Resident Manager in a 5-star or luxury boutique property

    Pre-Opening : Proven pre-opening experience with strong operational and commercial

    understanding

    Skills : Leadership, communication, financial management
