π» What You'll Be Doing
As a core member of our development team, you will dive deep into our systems. Your primary focus will be on designing, coding, testing, and supporting our applications built on the IBM i (AS / 400) platform.
- Develop & Enhance : Write high-quality, secure, and maintainable code using COBOL / 400 , CL , and SQL / DB2 .
- Collaborate : Work closely with other developers, business analysts, and QA teams within a full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) .
- Modernize : Play a key role in integration projects, helping our core systems communicate with modern applications via APIs and other solutions.
- Problem-Solve : Analyse and resolve complex technical issues and application defects.
- Optimize : Use your strong SQL skills to write efficient queries and ensure database integrity and performance.
- Maintain Standards : Adhere to and promote software development best practices , secure coding standards, and effective version control .

Must-Have Qualifications (The Core Role)

Proven Experience : Demonstrable software development experience in COBOL / 400 , AS / 400 , DB2 , and CL (Command Line) .Junior : 3-5 YearsMid : 7-9 YearsSenior : 10+ YearsSDLC Expertise : An in-depth understanding of the full Software Development Life Cycle.Technical Acumen : Good understanding of software development best practices and secure coding principles.Problem-Solving : Advanced reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.Database Skills : Strong, confident SQL skills and experience with DB2.Collaboration : Familiarity with modern version control tools (like Git or Subversion) and a history of successful collaboration with development teams.Integration Knowledge : Solid knowledge of APIs and integration solutions.Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.π Preferred Qualifications (What Sets You Apart)
