Location : Bengaluru

Reporting To : Sr. Manager - Projects

Type : Consultant

Compensation : INR 6–8 LPA (based on experience, qualifications, and previous salary)

Role Overview

The Senior Executive – Community Champion will anchor community engagement and participatory models to ensure strong local ownership in UWBe’s Climate Action initiatives, including lakes rejuvenation, biodiversity conservation, waste management, afforestation, and water conservation.

The role will lead research, documentation, knowledge-building, content creation for proposals, donor communications, and storytelling, highlighting grassroots environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Ownership

  • Lead community-level engagement for environmental action projects.
  • Design and document models of community ownership and local stewardship (e.g., lake committees, green ambassadors).
  • Facilitate interactions with community members, youth groups, and local influencers to build trust and participation.
  • Capture and document community-led innovations and impact stories.
  • Research & Knowledge Building

  • Conduct field research and secondary reviews to strengthen project strategies.
  • Document learnings, challenges, and successes for reports, toolkits, and knowledge products.
  • Maintain a structured repository of best practices and community-driven approaches.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Develop authentic human-interest stories, case studies, and impact briefs.
  • Support content creation for reports, presentations, brochures, and digital platforms.
  • Ensure content reflects the community voice and program impact.
  • Concept Note & Proposal Support

  • Co-develop proposals rooted in community insights and environmental priorities.
  • Align field-based data and narratives with donor expectations.
  • Highlight sustainability, community ownership, and impact potential in proposals.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in development / CSR and climate / environmental projects.
  • Strong understanding of corporate CSR frameworks, employee engagement, and partnership management.
  • Excellent communication skills in Kannada and English.
  • Willingness to travel for partnership development and project reviews.
