Company Overview : Foundation for Neglected Disease Research (FNDR) is a not-for-profit biotech R&D organization dedicated to discovering and developing novel therapeutics, diagnostics, and devices for diseases with a high socio-economic impact. Since its inception in 2014, FNDR has generated a portfolio of therapeutics in tuberculosis, nontuberculous mycobacteria, malaria, dengue, leishmania, serious bacterial infections, fungal infections, COVID-19 and RSV, spanning over early-stage discovery to late-stage clinical trials. Minimum Qualification :
- M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a closely related field
- PhD in organic chemistry / medicinal chemistry
- Postdoc in organic chemistry / Medicinal chemistry (Optional)
- 0-4 years of hands-on experience in working on bench, preferably in an industry
Responsibilities :
Design and execute synthetic routes to prepare small molecules for drug discovery programmesTrack SAR and optimizing potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules for research programsPerform purification and structural characterization of compoundsTroubleshoot synthetic problems and optimize reaction conditionsProviding mentorship and guidance to junior colleaguesMaintain accurate lab records and contribute to technical reportsCollaborate with analytical teams as neededProviding input on intellectual property activitiesTechnical and Soft Skills :
Skilled in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolationProficient in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation, others)High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problem solving skillsDemonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, conversant with the current literatureEffective oral and scientific / technical writing communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamCommitment to lab safety and adherence to safety protocolsFamiliarity with reaction databases (e.g., Reaxys, SciFinder)Proficiency using MS Office applications is requiredCTC Range : Commensurate to experience and negotiable.
