The Position – Guidewire Technology Director / Architect

About the Role :

We are looking for an accomplished technical leader to lead our Guidewire Engineering teams from our Hyderabad office. Tech Lead / Architect will be responsible for leading the technical design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of software development, architecture principles, and the ability to lead and mentor development teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in the insurance industry. The role will focus on providing solutions on the Guidewire platforms across cross functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership :

Lead the design and architecture of Guidewire applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical decisions

Solution Design and Architecture :

Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and design documents for software solutions.

Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet performance requirements.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the development process

Implementation and Development :

Oversee the implementation of software solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

Collaborate with development teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure high-quality deliverables.

Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability

Collaboration and Communication :

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and QA teams, to ensure successful project delivery.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Relevant Background & Experience :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus

Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architectural role.

Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions.

Ability to define best practices, coding standards and technical frameworks for Guidewire suite deployments

Multiple Certifications in Guidewire Platform

Experience in the insurance industry and understanding of relevant processes (Policy, Claims & Billing) is preferred

Technical Skills :

5+ years of experience as a Guidewire Solutions / Technical architect

Proven experience integrating Guidewire with Pega applications (Case management, BPM, decisioning)

Experience with Guidewire configuration, GOSU development and API’s

Hands on experience with integration frameworks (SOAP / Rest, APIs, messaging, MQ, ESB, Mulesoft, Kafka etc)

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI / CD, Docker).

Understanding of database design and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
