The Assistant Manager – Projects will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery and management of programs within a defined geography or thematic area. This includes ensuring timely implementation, close monitoring of NGO and community partners, managing program budgets, strengthening partnerships, and maintaining active engagement with government stakeholders.
The role requires a field-oriented approach — approximately 70% of the time will be spent in the field to ensure proper implementation, continuous monitoring, and community ownership of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Management & Implementation (70%)
Conduct community assessments, field visits, and data-gathering exercises to identify needs and opportunities for intervention.Plan, implement, and monitor all ongoing and new programs in alignment with approved timelines and goals.Mobilize community members to ensure sustainability and ownership of projects.Identify, contract, and supervise vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of program outcomes.Build and maintain strong relationships with Government officials and local administrative bodies to secure approvals, facilitate program execution, and enhance impact.Collaborate with internal project teams to exchange learnings, insights, and best practices.2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (10%)
Collaborate with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to design and execute structured frameworks for impact assessment and concurrent monitoring.Ensure continuous program tracking, partner evaluation, and adherence to performance indicators as defined in funder agreements.Maintain robust documentation of project activities, case studies, success stories, and best practices in line with UWBe’s standard operating procedures.3. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
Support the Corporate Partnerships team in facilitating corporate field visits, volunteering activities, and donor engagement programs.Coordinate with corporate partners during site visits and volunteering events to present project progress, outcomes, and community impact.Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational goals.4. Budget & Financial Management (10%)
Oversee budget utilization and ensure strict compliance with financial guidelines and funder requirements.Submit all relevant program documentation through Salesforce for approvals and fund disbursements.Prepare and submit quarterly and annual progress reports to the Corporate Partnerships team for donor sharing.Work closely with the Finance & Accounts team on vendor registration, due diligence, and timely payments.Qualifications & Experience
Postgraduate Degree (preferably in Social Work, Development Studies, or related fields).7–8 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in the development or CSR sector , with significant exposure to project operations and implementation .Strong understanding of CSR frameworks , community development , and stakeholder management .Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Kannada and English .Strong interpersonal, coordination, and reporting skills.Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders including corporates, NGOs, and government departments.Application Process
