Job description

Onni Group is seeking a highly skilled and innovative GenAI Engineer to join our technology team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying Generative AI (GenAI) solutions using cutting-edge Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in LLM fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and building production-ready AI applications. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with global teams across product, engineering, and UX to create scalable, responsible, and high-performing AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Integration

  • Research, fine-tune, and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Llama, Claude, and others.
  • Design and build GenAI-powered applications for text, code, and multimodal use cases.
  • Develop and deploy RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using vector databases.

AI Application Engineering

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and UX teams to build scalable AI-driven applications.
  • Evaluate and optimize model performance, latency, and cost for production-grade systems.
  • Implement responsible AI practices to mitigate bias, hallucination, and privacy risks.

    • Experimentation & Innovation

  • Conduct AI experimentation for automation and process improvement using tools like LangChain, AutoGen, or ReAct.
  • Stay current with emerging trends, open-source frameworks, and APIs in the GenAI ecosystem.
  • Document and communicate findings, improvements, and best practices.

    • Qualifications

    Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in AI / ML engineering or GenAI development roles.

    • Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP), deep learning, and transformer-based architectures.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with REST APIs and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with GenAI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack, or Hugging Face.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering, fine-tuning (LoRA, PEFT), and safety alignment.
  • Familiarity with LLMOps tools (e.g., Weights & Biases, PromptLayer, BentoML) is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and product teams.
  • Passion for continuous learning and innovation in the AI / ML domain.
