Job description
  • Monitor daily backup jobs, identify failures, and restart failed backups as needed
  • Ensure adherence to backup schedules and policies
  • Maintain backup job reports and escalate critical issues
  • Perform first-level troubleshooting for failed backup and restoration jobs
  • Identify and escalate hardware or software issues affecting backup performance
  • Work with L2 / L3 teams for advanced troubleshooting and resolution
  • Manage tape libraries, including media movement, scratch media allocation, and tape labeling
  • Perform tape eject and import operations as per client requirements
  • Coordinate with the client for tape rotation
  • Execute data restoration requests as per business needs
  • Validate backup integrity and perform test restores when required
  • Support users with file-level and system-level restore requests
  • Install and configure Tivoli Storage Manager Server on AIX, Linux & Windows environments
  • Check TSM server health status, including database utilization and process status
  • Assist in configuring backup clients and troubleshooting agent-related issues
  • Monitor backup storage utilization and report capacity concerns
  • Maintain backup logs and document troubleshooting steps
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly backup reports for review
  • Update incident records and escalate unresolved issues as per SLAs
  • Follow IT security policies and ensure data protection compliance
  • Assist in audit and compliance by providing backup logs and reports
