About the Role

Database upgrade to DB2 11.x and migration experience using DB2 tools for performance.

Responsibilities

• Installation and administration of DB2 11.x, 10.x on Linux, UNIX and Windows servers.
• Creation and maintenance of UDB DB2 instances, databases, schema and objects.
• Creation and execution of backup and recovery strategies and procedure implementation.
• Setup and execution of standard database utilities.
• Experienced in handling UDB DB2 security and logging.
• Events, database performance and availability monitoring.
• SQL, database and application performance monitoring and tuning.
• Evaluation and testing new versions of UDB DB2.
• Analyzes the issue to determine the root cause and develop solution or escalate to next level.
• Database growth trend analysis and capacity recommendation.
• Database reorganization planning.
• Design and extract the script from physical Data modeling.
• Coordinate with database vendors for resolution.
• Install Client software and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Create and troubleshoot DB2 and shell scripts.
• Primarily role is supporting the production and non-prod database environments.
• Provide 24x7 and on call support for critical application databases.
