We are seeking a skilled MySQL Aurora Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize our AWS Aurora MySQL database environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in database administration, performance tuning, security, and high availability setups. You will work closely with development, operations, and architecture teams to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems, meeting business requirements and maintaining system integrity.

1.  Database Administration :

Install, configure, and manage MySQL Aurora database clusters in AWS.

Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required.

2.  Performance Tuning and Optimization :

Analyze database performance and implement tuning measures.

Optimize queries, indexes, and schema designs for improved efficiency.

3.  Monitoring and Maintenance :

Monitor database health and performance using AWS monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Performance Insights).

Implement regular backups, restore processes, and disaster recovery solutions.

4.  High Availability and Scalability :

Design and maintain fault-tolerant and highly available database solutions using Aurora replicas and other AWS features.

Support auto-scaling and other Aurora scaling configurations.

5.  Security and Compliance :

Ensure database environments meet security and compliance standards.

Implement access controls, encryption, and secure configurations.

6.  :

Work closely with DevOps and development teams to integrate databases with CI / CD pipelines.

Provide technical support for database-related issues in production and non-production environments.

7.  Documentation and Reporting :

Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and changes.

Provide regular status updates and performance reports to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience in MySQL database administration.

Hands-on experience managing AWS Aurora MySQL clusters.

Strong knowledge of database design, indexing, and query optimization.

Proficiency in AWS services related to Aurora (e.g., RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, Backup & Restore).

Experience with high availability, replication, and disaster recovery strategies.

Familiarity with database security best practices, including encryption and access control.

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation tasks.

Preferred Skills :

Knowledge of other AWS databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redshift) or RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Experience with database monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.

Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architectures.

AWS Certified Database - Specialty or other relevant AWS certifications.
