Role Overview :

The Web Developer is a key technical role requiring 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in frontend development, focused on building beautiful, reliable, and functional web products for teachers, students, and parents.

Based in Bengaluru, the incumbent will play a major role in developing and maintaining the core Toddle website, blogs, and product interfaces, specifically integrating marketing and product requirements.

This position demands strong proficiency across the modern frontend stack, deep expertise in WordPress, and foundational knowledge of SEO and performance optimization.

Job Summary :

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Web Developer to partner with us in creating high-quality products. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience (SaaS preferred) with WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP. This role involves full-stack contributions to the website, leveraging RESTful APIs, and applying best practices in performance optimization and SEO to ensure maximum visibility and a seamless user Responsibilities and Development Deliverables :

• Frontend Development : Play a major role in developing the Toddle website, blogs, and product interfaces, using expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and jQuery.
• WordPress Ecosystem Management : Develop, customize, and maintain high-quality, performant websites primarily built on WordPress. This includes theme and plugin integration, maintenance, and optimization.
• Backend Integration : Implement complex interactions using Ajax calls and process data in standard formats (JSON, XML). Ensure robust integration with RESTful APIs developed by backend teams.
• Marketing and SEO Integration : Integrate marketing requirements into the website and product. Apply SEO Basics to maintain site health, including familiarity with SEO audits, page speed & Core Web Vitals, robots.txt & sitemaps, and hreflang.
• Tooling and Workflow : Utilize essential development tools, including Git basics for version control, Chrome DevTools for debugging and performance analysis, and Postman for API testing.
• Quality and Design : Demonstrate a good sense of design and apply a bias towards action in translating design mockups into pixel-perfect, accessible, and functional user interfaces.
• Collaboration : Work effectively with growth hackers, curriculum experts, and the product team to align development efforts with product and business Skills & Qualifications :
• Experience : 3 to 5 years of frontend development relevant working experience (SaaS preferred).
• Education : B.E / B.Tech degree.
• Frontend Core : Expertise in WordPress, HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and jQuery.
• Backend Integration : Proficiency with RESTful APIs, Ajax calls, and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Tooling : Working knowledge of Git basics, Chrome DevTools, and Postman.
• SEO Basics : Familiarity with core SEO compliance (e.g., page speed & Core Web Vitals, robots.txt & sitemaps, Skills :
• UI / UX : Basic understanding of UI / UX principles and accessibility.
• WordPress Customization : Ability to develop custom WordPress plugins, modules, and themes.
• Performance : Understanding of CDN, caching, and performance optimization techniques.
• Internationalization : Experience with multi-region / multilingual sites and SEO for them.
• Version Control : Familiarity with advanced version control workflows (Git, GitHub / GitLab).
• Backend Knowledge : Basic knowledge of Node.js and Express.
