What you’ll do
Oversee the design and integration of components, systems, and subsystems to meet defined requirements (functionality, performance, cost, quality, reliability).
Lead hardware architecture and high-level system design efforts, translating product goals into robust, scalable technical concepts.
Ensure all designs align with product requirements and drive design decisions that optimize performance, manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
Preside over program Technical Reviews, guiding cross-functional teams through design validation, risk assessment, and decision milestones.
Create and manage product development timelines; track activities to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to cost commitments.
Make design trade-offs as needed to achieve optimal product performance and quality within constraints of cost, manufacturability, and available technologies.
Communicate product development status clearly to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and design reviews.
Validate and approve essential design documentation, including functional block diagrams, manufacturing drawings, and product test requirements.
Develop and maintain documentation required for product certifications and regulatory compliance (e.g., BHMA, UL, FCC, CE, and other market-specific certifications).
Lead problem-solving activities for production or new product development, employing appropriate quality tools (e.g., fault-tree analysis, 5-why, fishbone diagrams) to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
Provide clear and effective communication to technical team members, as well as to executives, internal and external partners, ensuring alignment and transparency across the organization.
