Role Summary
The Junior Accounts Executive will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with organizational and statutory requirements. The role requires attention to detail, good analytical skills, and the ability to work in coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Maintain general ledgers and update journal entries.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Support invoice processing, vendor payments, and employee reimbursements.Follow up with customers for outstanding payments.Verify and reconcile vendor and customer statements.3. Bank & Cash Management
Perform daily bank reconciliations.Maintain petty cash and support cash flow tracking.Coordinate with banks for documentation or query resolutions.4. Audit & Compliance
Assist in internal and external audit preparations.Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.Adhere to local taxation and accounting regulations (OHADA or local statutory requirements).5. Reporting & Analysis
Prepare basic MIS reports as required.Support budgeting and variance analysis activities.Provide data for management review.Qualifications & Skills
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.Experience :
2 years of accounting experience (internship / fresher with strong fundamentals can also be considered).Exposure to accounting software (SAP / Tally / QuickBooks / Odoo) preferred.Skills :
Strong numerical and analytical skills.Good communication skills (English / French preferred).Proficiency in MS Excel (basic formulas, spreadsheets).Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy.Key Competencies
