Gcp Associate Cloud Engineer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai for a GCP Associate Cloud Engineer. The GCP Associate Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing and implementing cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Daily tasks include software development, infrastructure management, and ensuring the security and reliability of cloud services. This role also involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and smooth operations of cloud systems.

Access Management

1. Prepare Role based access control matrix for GCP

2. Review the role segregation across GCP projects and environments.

3. Review and support removal of overly permissive roles within GCP projects and applications.

Network

1. Support network operations implementation of existing SOP's along with updating the existing document.

2. Support implementation of network segmentation on cloud.

3. Review existing documentation to suggest improvements.

Incident Management

1. Support alignment of incident management with respect to cloud and update relevant procedures.

2. Review of the process, alignment to existing on-prem standards and suggest best practices.

Infrastructure and patch

1. Review patch management procedures and check if all servers are updated to the latest patches.

2. Review existing documentation to suggest improvements.

3. Ensure infra logging (health monitoring) is in place and alerts configured with ticketing.

Governance

1. Update the existing cloud governance standard -basis industry best practices.

2. Support implementation of the cloud governance practices (mentioned in the document)

3. Update any relevant policy and procedures pertaining to cloud (Backup procedures, any ITIL processes)

4. Define exit strategy and review it across the application

5. Review cloud resilience arrangements and suggest improvements.

Asset Management

1. Create an asset management tracker for GCP assets - infra the assets should capture key, certificates etc.

2. Review the tagging is in line with defined standards.

Resilience

1. Review the existing SOP and define the cloud resilience strategy.

2. Work with the implementation team to ensure conformance to standard + ensuring a robust BCP posture on cloud.
