About the Role :
There is a suite of services within MHJHADS to treat people presenting with an eating disorder. The Eating Disorder Program (EDP) is a specialist outpatient tertiary service that provides assessment and therapeutic treatment for children, adolescents, including Family Based Therapy (FBT) and adults who are experiencing an eating disorder as their primary presenting issue. The Short-Term Recovery Intervention for Disordered Eating (STRIDE) is a psychology student-led clinic offering short term cognitive behavioural therapy for up to 10 sessions to eligible individuals for their eating disorder or disordered eating behaviour. The Eating Disorders Residential Treatment Centre (EDRTC) is a residential service providing specialist, intensive nutritional and psychological treatment with medical monitoring and 24 / 7 nursing support for a period of up to three months for people aged 16 years and over with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder. Both the CAMHS EDP and EDRTC teams are made up of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals, while STRIDE is a psychology specific service. All services provide assessment and treatment within a recovery framework.
The Clinical Supervisor for Psychology position reports to the Assistant Director of Allied Health (ADAH), MHJHADS and is based in the Professional Leadership and Governance Unit within Allied Health Services in MHJHADS.
The successful candidate will provide clinical supervision to Psychologists and other Allied Health staff consistent with Canberra Health Services (CHS), MHJHADS and Psychology Board of Australia policies, procedures and standards. They will have high level knowledge, expertise and skills in providing therapeutic interventions to people affected by an eating disorder, the provision of psychology services and will be expected to apply this knowledge both to discipline specific and broader allied health contexts.
In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate a well-developed understanding of quality and safety systems and a commitment to meeting standards and managing job demand.
The position holder is expected to operate within the Public Sector Management Act (1994), the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct and the Psychology Board of Australia Code of Ethics.
