Key Responsibilities :
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of process designers, including assigning tasks, setting goals, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development among team members.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering, procurement, and project management, to ensure effective teamwork and project delivery.
- Develop and review process design deliverables, including PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and process equipment specifications.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of process design deliverables to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
- Identify and mitigate design risks and issues, implementing appropriate corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and construction, to ensure seamless integration of process designs with overall project requirements.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to address design-related inquiries, provide technical support, and resolve design-related issues.
- Participate in design review meetings, project progress meetings, and technical presentations to stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills :
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in process design within the oil and gas industry, with a focus on upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.Strong knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim), process design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CADWorx), and related engineering software.Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as API, ASME, and ISO, as they apply to process design in the oil and gas sector.Proficiency in using process design software for developing PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
