Staff Application Engineer

Minimum qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12 years of experience designing and integration of internal and third-party applications.
• 3 years of experience in programming with Java.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs / prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

Our development team works on a mix of third-party and Google built 1p systems to efficiently move equipment into and out of Google's compute and networking sites across the globe. We partner with teams of logistics operators and material handling specialists to automate a wide range of processes involved in building machines and networks that run Google Cloud, Search, YouTube, Gmail, Maps and other Google products. Our systems form a platform for global logistics and execution used across all of Alphabet.
