Job Title : Assistant Professor - Foundation
We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional with a Master’s or PhD in a design-related field to join our team.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs) :
1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery
- Deliver courses using digital tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Figma, Miro , and prototyping platforms.
- Conduct lectures, practical sessions, workshops, and studio classes.
- Teach Design Thinking , UI / UX fundamentals, wireframing, prototyping, and user research methods.
- Ensure high-quality, industry-aligned content delivery across modules.
2. Curriculum Design & Upgradation
Develop, update, and refine course content, learning materials, assignments, and project briefs.Integrate latest tech innovations including AI-driven design tools, motion graphics, AR / VR design, and emerging UI / UX trends.Embed real-world case studies and project-based learning approaches.3. Assessment & Student Feedback
Prepare and administer assessments, ensuring alignment with learning objectives.Provide timely formative and summative feedback.Support students in developing strong industry-ready portfolios using digital tools.4. Student Mentoring & Engagement
Guide students through projects, design critiques, and portfolio development.Encourage participation in designathons, hackathons, digital art challenges, and national / international competitions.Monitor and enhance student engagement in classroom and online platforms.5. Industry Exposure & Collaboration
Establish connections with design studios, UX firms, startups, and creative agencies.Organize guest lectures, industry workshops, live projects, and tool-based masterclasses.Facilitate internships and real-world project opportunities.6. Research & Innovation in Design
Stay updated with trends in digital design, UI / UX, interaction design, and design technology.Explore and adopt new design tools, processes, and innovative pedagogical methods.Contribute to departmental research, exhibitions, showcases, and academic events.Required Skills & Competencies :
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; Premiere Pro / After Effects preferred).Expertise in Figma , UI / UX tools, wireframing, prototyping, and interface design.Knowledge of Miro, Blender, Canva, prototyping software , or similar platforms.Familiarity with new-age design tech such as AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly), AR / VR, and motion design is a plus.Design & Pedagogy Skills
Strong conceptual understanding of Design Thinking , user-centered design, visual communication, and design fundamentals.Ability to engage students with interactive teaching approaches.Ability to critique design work and give constructive feedback.Professional Attributes
Creative mindset, updated with the latest industry trends.Excellent communication and classroom management skills.Ability to lead students toward achieving high-quality outcomes.Collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to school-wide initiatives.Qualifications :
Master’s degree / Ph.D in Design / Visual Communication / UI / UX / Multimedia / Interaction Design or related field.Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.A strong design portfolio demonstrating proficiency in digital tools and user-centered design processes.Key Competencies : The Design Faculty will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and shaping students in digital design, design thinking, and emerging technologies. The role requires strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, prototyping tools, and other digital design platforms, along with the ability to integrate latest industry trends and methodologies into teaching.
