About The Opportunity

Industry : IT services & enterprise software consulting. Sector : SAP performance engineering, Basis operations and enterprise ERP performance optimisation for large-scale, mission-critical SAP landscapes. This is a hands-on, on-site role based in India focused on ensuring peak SAP system performance, stable SLAs, and efficient capacity planning for cross-industry clients (manufacturing, retail, finance, utilities).

Role (standardized title) : SAP Performance Engineer — on-site in India, reporting into the Infrastructure / Platform Engineering team to design, execute and operationalize performance tuning, testing and monitoring practices across SAP environments.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end performance engineering for SAP landscapes : identify bottlenecks, design remediation, and implement tuning at ABAP, application server, DB, and OS layers.
• Plan and execute performance / load tests (LoadRunner / JMeter), analyse results, and present capacity and SLA-impacting insights to stakeholders.
• Perform SQL tracing and ABAP profiling (ST05,ST12,ST03N,STAD) and work with developers / DBAs to optimise long-running statements and expensive database operations.
• Implement and maintain proactive monitoring & APM (CCMS, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana) to detect regressions, create baselines, and automate alerting / health-checks.
• Own performance incident RCA, create runbooks and performance playbooks, and collaborate with Basis, DBAs, networking, and application teams to implement fixes.
• Drive capacity planning, performance benchmarking and tuning standards; document outcomes and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
