About the Role

We are seeking a Senior AI Development Engineer to join our AI team. In this role, you will be responsible for writing optimized Python code for AI applications, translating machine learning models into production-ready systems, and ensuring all code meets our organization's high standards for quality and performance. You will work closely with data scientists, MLOps engineers, and platform teams to build robust AI solutions that address complex business challenges. As a senior member of the team with 10+ years of experience, you will also provide technical leadership, establish coding standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

Design and implement high-performance, production-grade Python code for AI applications that adheres to organizational standards

Optimize machine learning algorithms and models for efficiency, scalability, and reliability in production environments

Collaborate with data scientists to translate prototype models into robust, maintainable, and scalable code

Develop reusable code libraries, frameworks, and tools to accelerate AI development across the organization

Implement automated testing frameworks and continuous integration practices for AI systems

Work closely with MLOps engineers to ensure smooth deployment and integration of AI systems into production environments

Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and design patterns for AI development

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and developer skills

Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in AI applications and systems

Stay current with the latest advancements in software engineering and AI technologies

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their technical growth and development

Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile development process

Experience and Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred

10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years focused on AI / ML applications

Expert-level proficiency in Python, including advanced features, optimization techniques, and design patterns

Extensive experience with Python data science and ML libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)

Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and experience designing complex systems

Proven track record of delivering high-performance, production-grade AI applications

Experience with optimization techniques for machine learning algorithms and large-scale data processing

Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI / CD pipelines, and DevOps practices

Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and experience with automated testing frameworks

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes)

Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and their AI / ML services

Knowledge of database systems and data storage technologies relevant to AI applications

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in production environments

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

Experience mentoring junior engineers and establishing coding standards and best practices

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with changing priorities
