Job descriptionAssess existing IBM DB2 database environments and define migration strategy to Azure SQL. Design and implement migration plans including schema conversion, data migration, and validation. Use tools such as Azure Data Migration Assistant (DMA), Azure Database Migration Service (DMS), and SSIS to facilitate migration. Optimize and refactor DB2 stored procedures, triggers, and queries for compatibility with Azure SQL. Ensure data integrity, performance, and security throughout the migration process. Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure seamless integration. Document migration processes, configurations, and post-migration support plans. Provide training and knowledge transfer to internal teams. 5+ years of experience with IBM DB2 database administration and development. Proven experience in database migration projects, especially DB2 to SQL Server / Azure SQL. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, performance tuning, and indexing. Experience with data migration tools and scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL, etc.). Familiarity with cloud security, networking, and compliance best practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
