Job Description : Business Analyst - Supply Chain (D2C / B2B -Personal care Business)
We're looking for a highly analytical and results-oriented Business Analyst to join our Supply Chain team in a D2C and B2B Personal Care business setup.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing critical insights through Management Information Systems (MIS) , highlighting and reporting operational abnormalities , and leading cost optimisation projects across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
MIS & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and generate routine and ad-hoc MIS reports focused on key Supply Chain metrics, including inventory levels, logistics performance, production efficiency, and procurement costs.
- Design and implement dashboards to visualise performance data for various stakeholders, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding.
- Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas requiring attention within the supply chain.
Abnormality Detection & Analysis
Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks specific to the soap manufacturing supply chain.Proactively identify and investigate significant deviations or abnormalities in supply chain operations (e.G., unexpected stockouts, high spoilage rates, significant cost variances, delivery delays).Perform root cause analysis on identified issues and collaborate with functional heads (Production, Logistics, Procurement) to propose corrective actions.Cost Optimization & Projects
Lead and support cost optimization initiatives across the entire supply chain, from raw material sourcing (e.G., oils, soap base, fragrance,COC,SC costs) to finished goods distribution.Model and analyse the financial impact of various supply chain scenarios, such as different sourcing strategies, warehousing models, or logistics providers.Develop business cases for supply chain improvement projects, monitor project progress, and track realised cost savings against targets.Cross-Functional Collaboration & Support
Serve as the link between the Supply Chain function and IT / Finance for data extraction, system improvements, and financial planning.Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process for supply chain costs.Prepare presentations and summaries for senior management, detailing supply chain performance and project outcomes.Required Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or specialized certification in SCM.Experience : 3-5 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably within a FMCG or Manufacturing (Soap / Chemical) environment with a focus on Supply Chain.Technical Skills :o Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling).
o Strong experience with ERP systems (e.G., SAP, Oracle) and BI / Data visualization tools (e.G., Power BI, Tableau).
o Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data modelling.
Domain Knowledge : Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics.Skills & Competencies
Analytical Thinking : Exceptional ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.Problem-Solving : Proven track record of identifying operational issues and developing practical solutions.Attention to Detail : Meticulous in data handling and report generation to ensure accuracy.
