About the Role :

As the Director of Design at 1Weather you will define and lead the design vision for one of the most widely used consumer apps in the category. If you are someone who thrives at the intersection of craft product thinking and systems design while being equally comfortable shaping long-term product strategy and rolling up your sleeves to deliver exceptional user experiences this could be for you.

Youll also partner closely with product and engineering counterparts influencing decision-making across disciplines and ensuring design is always championed in conversations that impact millions of global users. This role will be based out of Bengaluru.

What Youll be Doing ( Responsibilities ) :

• Strategic Design Leadership : Define and evolve the design vision and frameworks that ensure scalable cohesive and delightful experiences across platforms.
• Lead and Mentor : Grow inspire and guide a team of UX Designers building a culture of craft curiosity empathy and excellence.
• Hands-On Execution Beyond Ma & just : Balance vision with action - contributing directly to design when needed particularly on high-impact complex or time-sensitive challenges.
• Cross-Functional Influence : Collaborate with Product Managers Engineers and Researchers to co-create solutions aligning user needs technical possibilities and business goals.
• User Empathy & Behaviour Insights : Observe user behaviour at scale identify patterns and translate them into actionable insights that guide both product direction and design craft.
• Continuous Learning & Innovation : Stay curious experimenting with new tools technologies and design methodologies (including AI-driven or predictive UX) to push the boundaries of whats possible.
• Product Thinking : Ensure design solutions are not only elegant and intuitive but also strategically aligned with long-term product and business objectives.
• Systems & Consistency : Build and maintain design systems that balance scalability brand identity and usability across platforms.
• Communication & Storytelling : Clearly articulate design rationale craft compelling narratives and drive alignment across stakeholders at all levels.
