Job description

Intern – Mechanical Engineering (Design, Documentation & Field Support) Location : Gurugram (Onsite-5 days working) Duration : 6 months Responsibilities : - Create and modify 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies using PTC Creo.

Prepare 2D manufacturing drawings in Creo Drawing Mode with basic GD&T, fits, and tolerances.
Build assemblies using constraints and interface conditions;

perform basic interference / clearance checks.

Generate assembly drawings and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Export and share files in standard formats (PDF, DXF, STEP) following naming and revision standards.

Maintain revision control and PLM hygiene in Windchill (check-in / out, revise, release, publish viewables).

Support prototype, verification, and reliability tests (setup, measurements, data logging, photos).

Convert bench notes into clear test procedures, acceptance criteria, and concise reports.

Participate effectively in brainstorming sessions and engineering discussions.

Prepare fabrication packs for vendors;

assist with receiving checks and basic NCR documentation.

Support field / site issue triage and closure (Jira ticket hygiene, repro steps, part / version tracking). Requirements : - B.Tech(Pursuing or 2025 graduate) in Mechanical / Mechatronics or related discipline.

Good working knowledge of CAD.

Knowledge and understanding of PTC Creo (parts, assemblies, 2D drawings).

Working knowledge of fits & tolerances and basic GD&T.

Ability to run basic interference / clearance checks and generate BOMs.

Basic understanding of machining and sheet-metal processes and DFM / DFA considerations.

Familiarity with PLM tools (Windchill preferred) and revision / naming best practices.

Comfortable with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, torque tools) and safe lab practices.

Strong documentation habits;

proficiency with spreadsheets for logs and simple plots.

Clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in a team. Preferred (Good to Have) : - Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.

Exposure to reliability testing / FMEA / 8D.

Basic scripting for data cleanup / plots (Excel formulas, Python, or MATLAB).
